Rehearsing & Playing Together Again

The weekend of August 13-15: We are all gathered for the first time in almost two years - to enjoy playing together and to work on our upcoming recording, OUT OF THE SILENCE Part 2. It is wonderful to be with friends on Mayne Island, to share food (the blackberries warm off the bush!), discuss and decide which tunes to record in 3 weeks time, work on orchestrations for each tune. It feels like musical family - requires discussion, cooperation and negotiation!

September 9-15: Five days of rehearsing in Lael’s basement on Mayne Island and recording & editing at Fiddlehead Studios just up the road - and we’re done - that part of it!! Now some overdubbing to do, then Adam can work on the first mixes, leading to even more decisions. I have learned that the creation of each of our recordings is a long journey with many side trips - little excursions that have taught me a great deal in the process. OOTS Part 2 may be ready for release early in 2022. Amazing!!
